Marco De La Pierre
Biography
Marco is a Supercomputing Specialist at Pawsey Supercomputing Centre in Perth, Australia, holding a PhD in Materials Science with a specialisation in theoretical and computational chemistry.
His main area of expertise is quantum mechanical calculations and classical molecular dynamics. He is also highly experienced in software development (mostly Fortran, plus a bit of C++), and has accumulated an extensive skill set around workflow automation, portability and reproducibility, including the design and deployment of containers solutions for HPC.
Joining Pawsey in 2018, he engages with researchers in the fields of computational materials science, computational chemistry and bioinformatics.
