SUMMARY:In Situ Temporal Caching
DESCRIPTION:Workshop\n\nIn Situ Temporal Caching\n\nDeMarle\n\nIn certain
simulation analyses, events may occur which justify further in situ proces
sing. Sometimes, however, when the events do occur the phenomenon of inter
est is the physics that precipitated the events and this may be the key in
sight into understanding the phenomenon that is being simulated. In situ t
emporal caching is the temporary storing of datasets for possible later an
alysis and temporal visualization. The later analysis and visualization st
ill occurs during the simulation run but not until the significant events
have been detected. The notable contribution of this paper is the ability
to temporarily cache a number of time steps in fast memory for ex-post-fac
to in situ use.\n\nRegistration Category: Workshop Reg Pass
